Fayette High School students have been getting into the school spirit as the district celebrates Courtwarming Week. This year’s theme is Falcon Music Fest, with dress-up days related to the music industry.
Tuesday’s theme is “Boot Scootin’ to Victory.” Students can dress up as their favorite country music artist. On Wednesday, students may dress up as their favorite Rock and Roll artist for “Rock the Eagles” day. Thursday is “Hip Hop Dribble to the BEAT” day, when students may dress as their favorite hip hop artist. The hallways will be gilded in black and gold as students wear their favorite Falcon gear.
Other events scheduled this week include a high school pep rally on Thursday when FHS cheerleaders and students will compete in class competitions. An all-schools assembly closes out the day on Friday in the high school gym.
Courtwarming culminates with the crowning of a new King and Queen during halftime of the boys’ basketball game on Friday night. This year’s senior Queen candidates are Hayden Sage, Cayle John, and Oakleigh Hill. Senior King candidates are Micah Estes, Kevin De La Torre, and Thomas Elliott.
Attendants include juniors Clara Gose and Charles Alexander, sophomores Kennady Vroman and Colten Cross, and freshmen Eastin Hill and Blake Braden.
Crown-bearers for the 2025 coronation are Eden Cunningham and Canaan Gladden.
The annual Courtwarming dance will close out the festivities after the basketball games. The junior varsity boys tip off at 5 p.m. with varsity girls and boys games to follow. Fayette hosts Central State 8 opponent Eugene on the basketball court.
