The public is invited to a free soul food dinner on Saturday, February 8, as a celebration of Black History Month. A Taste of Blackness will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, 300 Cleveland Street, in Fayette.
This year’s event will feature a host of guest speakers from around the area, including Jo Ann Jackman (Fayette), Irene White (Forest Green), Sharron Mayo (Glasgow), Vicky Smith (Moberly), Deacon Fred Nabors (Salisbury), and Deacon Delbert Ganaway (Slater). Maronica Kitchen, who holds a master’s degree in social work, will host a conversation about mental wellness.
Organizers ask that those planning to attend RSVP to Rev. Charlie Wright, Sr, at (573) 470-1075 so they may accurately plan the event.
