An athlete from St. Peters, Missouri, with ties to Fayette, is burning up the tennis courts across the state as well as the track. On Friday, July 29, Aristen Malone, aged 12, won the Show-Me State Games tennis competition in the boys’ 16-and-under division.

Malone is the son of Tim and Avinelle (Kirby) Malone, and the grandson of Margie Kirby of Fayette. Avinelle is a 1995 graduate of Fayette High School.

Malone is currently the top-ranked tennis player in the state in the boys 12-and-under division. He plans to compete soon in a tournament held in Mobile, Alabama.

Not only is Malone a Missouri tennis star, he is swift of foot. He won the Moberly Independence Day 5k race for the boys 12-and-under division, and finished second overall.
