To the Editor:
In June 2019, with the election of new board members for the Higbee community and senior center were faced with the challenge with dwindling funds and a $75,000 building to be paid off.
Over the last several years the hard work of board and the community have made it possible with fundraising and generous donations for the Higbee Board to pay the building loan off. Even though the building is paid off, continued donations will help us build a reserve for maintenance of kitchen equipment and upkeep.
The Center receives no State or Federal aid, it is run primarily by meals sold, donations and United Way. All help is greatly appreciated.
