Fayette to graduate 46 seniors

A familiar face will deliver the annual commencement address at the Fayette High School graduation ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Alumnus and former teacher and coach Kristen Hough will speak to the graduates. The event begins at 2 p.m. in the high school gym.

Hough was born and raised in Fayette. Her parents, Richard and Ruth Ann Conrow, along with her two brothers and their families, still reside here.

She graduated from Fayette High School in 1998 and holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master’s of education degree in administration from Central Methodist University. She and her husband, Greg, have two children, Tatum and Beau.

Hough is currently employed with the Boonville school district as a special education teacher. Next school year she will continue in the role of special education teacher at BHS and has been recommended to also become the district’s 504 District Coordinator.

Hough formerly taught and coached at Fayette for five years, from 2004 through 2007, and from 2016 until 2018. She served as the head women’s basketball coach for one year, an assistant basketball coach for three years, an assistant softball coach for three years, and an assistant CMS women’s basketball coach for two years.

When asked about her experiences in Fayette Schools, Hough proudly responded, “I received a great education from the Fayette School District and I will be forever grateful for all the teachers, coaches, and administrators that guided my way. Fayette High School holds some of my favorite memories, from marching in the street on band days to winning tournament championships on the basketball court. I have, and always will have, a strong love for this community. I still bleed black and gold and am proud to say I am from Fayette.”
