Jack Marble

1940 – 2024

Our beloved Jack was called to Heaven on March 14, 2024.

Jack was born on June 22, 1940, to Fred and Mary Ruth Marble. He graduated from high school in Overland Park, Kansas, and went on to study at the University of Kansas and California Institute of the Arts. After serving in the army, Jack completed his formal education at Cal State Long Beach with assistance from the G.I. Bill.

Jack worked briefly in aerospace, but found his greatest professional success in advertising, as an award-winning, freelance copywriter. High intelligence and a quick, dry sense of humor were his trademarks, and people describe Jack as having been a kind and good man. He will be sorely missed by his family and many others.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Ruth Marble.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children Elizabeth Marble, Tom Marble, and John (Hiromi) Marble; his grandchildren Fred, Alice, and Angie Marble; his sister Joyce Papke; and Gretchen Simmer, Jack’s first wife.
