The Mid-MO Kings won six straight games to leave the 30-team GMB World Series with rings after a 4-2 win over the Express in Sullivan on Sunday.
Payton Oeth had a hit in five of the six games, including two doubles, a triple and a home run.
Oeth had an RBI double and allowed one earned run over six innings in a 4-2 win over the Naturals in the tournament semifinal.
In the quarterfinal round, the Kings jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. The Hitmen made things interesting late, scoring three runs in the fifth inning to cut the lead to two. The Kings gave up a leadoff double, followed by a single in the sixth inning before turning to Oeth to get the final three outs of a 6-4 victory.
Oeth retired the final three batters on six pitches to preserve the win.
The Kings outscored their opponents 38-5 in three games of pool play. Oeth was 3-6 at the plate in those three games with three RBI and an inside-the-park home run.
