Krista Monnig will continue her academic and athletic pursuits at Central Methodist University in the fall. The Glasgow senior signed with the Eagle softball program at the high school on Wednesday.
“The softball program and the coaches will be a good fit for me because they will not only push me on the field but in the classroom as well,” Monnig said.
Monnig was first-team all-conference after the past season. She had a stellar year offensively, going 23-46 at the plate while driving in nine runs.
Monnig is undecided on a major, but plans to choose either nursing, business, or sports management.
“I know that at CMU they have great academics in every area,” she said. “I like the campus because when I went on my visit, everyone was so welcoming.”
