To the Editor:
New Franklin never ceases to amaze me when it comes to their thirst for money.
Just a few months ago the voters in New Franklin wisely rejected an increase in a tax.
Then recently the New Franklin Aldermen decide to try for yet another tax increase to pay for police coverage. The times I have called for cops it takes over 30 minutes to get a response. 30 minutes in this one-horse town? And, to top it off Greg Robinson the city attorney said the aldermen should go door to door to get this passed. But, when I was not happy with having my internet service chopped off by the clowns installing Socket, I wanted a call from my aldermen. I am STILL waiting for Walter Banks and Todd Baslee to call me.
Now I see where because “an employee of New Franklin” incorrectly estimated the amount of water citizens would use. So, guess, what, that means ANOTHER increase in fees for the privilege of living in the one-horse town. So much for using water responsably. Decrease your use, and the fees will still rise. New Franklin logic.
It seems to me these so-called “leaders” of our town need to get their acts together.
I cannot do anything about the water thing. I can vote against the increase for the third-rate police coverage we have.
Oh, and when will I get my phone calls Mr. Banks and Mr. Baslee? Do not bother coming by to get me to vote for the tax increase for the cops—it is already a NO.
