Longtime Glasgow resident, Louise Kneuvean, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, Missouri. Louise was born on January 27, 1946, in Boonville, Missouri to Ralph and Helen (Walker) Johnson. They moved to Glasgow when she was very young, and she graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1963. It is in Glasgow where Lousie met the love of her life, Eugene Judson Kneuvean, Sr. (Big Jud or Gene, as he was known) and they married on August 22, 1964.

Louise was a faithful member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church for the entirety of her life. She was a loyal volunteer at the Glasgow Nursing Home, playing piano for the Sunday services for decades. She had a full life and career. She served her community in several public service roles, serving as both the City Clerk and Collector for the City of Glasgow. She spent many years as an auditor with the Missouri Department of Labor before she retired.

Her favorite job was as an encouraging, loving, and faithful Granny to her five grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to cheer them on in all of their endeavors. She could often be found in the stands of their many games, parades, and recitals.

Toward the end of her life, her boys, Jud and Richie, commuted weekly to care for her in her home and then to be by her side at her assisted living residence, the hospital, and finally, in hospice.

Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Jud Kneuvean, Sr. She is survived by her brother, Richard Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Lanae Wagner of Dallas, Texas, and her son, Todd (Amy) Wagner; sons Eugene Judson Kneuvean, Jr. of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Richard Everett (Tia) Kneuvean of Springfield, Illinois; daughter in law, Shelley Temple Kneuvean of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren: Alex (Makayla) Kneuvean, Anna Kneuvean, both of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Charlie Kneuvean, Will Kneuvean, and Mary-Walker Kneuvean of Springfield, Illinois.

The visitation and funeral services will be held at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow on Monday, August 1, 2022, officiated by Pastor Karen Alden. The visitation will be at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow, Missouri.

The evening before, she will lie in state from 5 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the funeral home in Glasgow for those who want to come and pay their last respects and honor her life.

Memorials may be given to PAWS or Glasgow UMC c/o Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market Street, Glasgow, MO 65254.
