Fayette’s Memorial Day celebration will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 on the south side of the Fayette courthouse lawn. The annual event recognizes the service of American veterans, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
During the service, the Peacemakers Quilters will present a Quilt of Valor to a local veteran. Other groups involved with the event include the Howard County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Post 273, Boy Scout Troop 62. Mayor of Fayette, Jeremy Dawson, will speak. Pastor Jamie Page will provide the music.
The service is free and the public is invited to join in honoring this nation’s heroes and thank the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
