To the Editor:
I need your help. My husband is a resident of a care facility and has been in total lock down for almost 8 months now.
My problem is I’m planning a traditional Thanksgiving like we have always had here at the farm for the past 63 years. Turkey and all the trimmings. But my problem is I don’t see how the kids and their families and I can sit down and have dinner together and be THANKFUL when their Dad is locked up by himself at the care facility. Why? Why can’t I bring him out here for the day and let him be with his family like I always have since he has been in the nursing home. This is Senior abuse. These are human beings. Who is making these rules and regulations? My husband and millions of other seniors are suffering. they are so depressed from not being with the outside world they are dying. Whoever is making the rules are killing them.
Please help. Think about this. These people could be your Mom, Dad, Husband, Wife. They have feelings. Please help give these people the freedom they deserve. They need to see their loved ones. Thanks for listening. I’m desperate.
