Fayette resident Nick Taylor, age 58, passed away on June 27, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo.
Nicholas Gail Taylor was born on September 16, 1965, in Fayette, Mo. He was one of three children born to the late Gail and Virginia Ann “Snookie” (Johnmeyer) Taylor. He graduated from Fayette High School in the class of 1983. Nick was a handyman and could fix just about anything. He worked on the family farm, tending to livestock. He also worked for Johnmeyer’s Construction for a number of years. Nick primarily worked as an auto mechanic, working in auto repair and maintenance for T&T Auto Salvage. On May 5, 2012, Nick married Melinda “Linnie” Sweezer on the family farm. In his free time, Nick enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Nick was a devoted and active member of River of Life Assembly of God Church in Boonville, Mo.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Linnie Taylor; three children, Ian, Terry, and Chelsea Taylor; three step-children, Joshua Windsor, Dakota Henderson, and Austin Henderson; four grandchildren, Amelia, Amarrah, Jax, and Ryker; and sister, Trish (Tyra) Elliott of Fayette. Nick is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Taylor.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024, at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Boonville, Mo., with Pastor Larry Fencl officiating.
