Nora D. Dockins, 90, of New Franklin, Missouri passed away at her home on November 21, 2021.  

She was born in Boonesboro, Missouri on January 17, 1931, a daughter of John C. and Lola Mae Jackson Bledsoe. Nora married William “Bill” Dockins on December 21, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2010.

Nora was employed for many years, working with her sister Irene Bledsoe, at the Boben Manufacturing Company in Boonville. She was a member of the former New Franklin Christian Church and had been attending the First Christian Church in Boonville. She loved her family and her positive attitude and dedication to her family was an inspiration to many.

Survivors include a son, Terry Dockins of New Franklin; a daughter, Marva Sartwell and husband, Joel, of Columbia; a granddaughter, Laura Cooper and fiancé, Michael Chang; step-granddaughter, Jacque Sartwell; two great-grandchildren, Tisha and Aliyah; and several nieces and nephews from the Bledsoe and Dockins families.

In addition to her husband and parents, Nora was preceded in death by three brothers, William Bledsoe, Melvin Dobson, and Larry Bledsoe; two sisters, Betty Duncan and Irene Bledsoe and by two nephews, Michael and Rodney Dobson.

Services honoring Nora’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Rev. Nick Larson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association.
