The Fayette Optimist Club hosted one of their most successful tractor pulls in club history at the Howard County Fairgrounds on Saturday night. The 51st annual Optimist Power Pull drew more than 1,100 spectators with competitors from around a dozen states.
Although expenses are still being tallied, it is presumed the club raised around $15,000 that will be put to use in Fayette.
“It was a really good pull,” said Fayette Optimist Club President Brian Spielbauer. “It will allow us to do a lot of good in the community in the next year.”
Saturday’s pull featured six classes from the Champion Seed Western Series, which included Sancrest Specialized 85 Limited Pro Stock Tractors, Sancrest Trailer 95 Limited Pro Stock Tractors, Fleece Performance Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Northwoods Heads Light Pro Stock Tractors, Tuff Wireless Pro Farm Tractors, and invitational Pro Stock 4x4 Trucks.
Now in its 18th season, the Pro Pulling League continues as the world’s largest truck and tractor pulling sanctioning body, featuring more than 250 sessions of competition across 20 states.
