A pedestrian who was struck by a car died on Thursday as a result of his injuries. David N. Moore, 67, of Fayette, was hit while walking in the roadway near where Lucky and Vine Streets intersect on the morning of Friday, September 10.
According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, he was hit by a 2011 Hyundai Sonata driven by Cayley E. Hollon, 20, from Boonville. Mr. Moore was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia in serious condition.
Mr. Moore was walking eastward against traffic and Hollon was driving west at the time of the accident, according to law enforcement.
The highway patrol performed an accident reconstruction and is investigating the crash. The patrol has not announced if criminal charges will be filed and no arrests have been made.
An obituary for Mr. Moore appears on Page 3 of this newspaper.
