Long-time Armstrong resident, Ray Ferguson, age 86, passed away on October 20, 2022, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Wilman Ray Ferguson was born November 19, 1935, near Armstrong, Missouri, to the late Russell and Mary Lou (Yung) Ferguson. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1953. Ray married Audrey Wilkerson on May 22, 1955, at the Glasgow United Methodist Church. The couple enjoyed 57 years of marriage until Audrey’s passing on February 16, 2012. Ray was a lifelong farmer and served on the Howard Electric board as well as the Glasgow school board, where he served as president for several years. When not spending time with his family, Ray enjoyed selling produce and visiting with customers and friends on the square in Fayette. He also enjoyed attending auctions, tractor pulls, and Glasgow High School sporting events. Ray never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl (David) Clements of Armstrong, Terri (Kenny) Nordmeyer of Franklin, and Darla (Lyle) Friedrich of Waynesville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Leslie) Nordmeyer, Kenzie (John) Selk, Koby (Heidi) Clements, Justen Friedrich, Kelton (Karissa) Clements, Kyra (Dustyn) Yung, Spencer Friedrich, and Sophie (Ryan) McClure; 10 great-grandchildren, Bryan and Elizabeth Nordmeyer, Gabe, Michael and Nate Selk, Koda and Indie Clements, Brady and Bowen Clements, and Baby Yung on the way. Ray also leaves his special friend, Marsha Davis.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow. Funeral services honoring Mr. Ferguson’s life were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the funeral home, with Rev. Karen Alden officiating. Burial followed the service at Boonesboro Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Glasgow United Methodist Church or Boonesboro Cemetery Association in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market St., Glasgow, MO 65254.
