Richard Alvin Marcum

Richard Alvin Marcum, 72, of Franklin, Missouri, passed away March 30, 2021, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.  

He was born in Boonville,  Missouri on August 17, 1948 a son of Samuel Alvin and Arla Reed Marcum.

Richard was a member of the New Franklin High School Class of 1967. He married Mary Ray in Boonville on October 11, 1968. Richard served his nation in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa, The Philippines, Texas, Hawaii and Arizona. At the time of his retirement he was employed as a Section Foreman with the KATY Railroad. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary and two sons, Tony and Brad Marcum of Franklin. Also surviving is a brother, Sam (Patsy) Marcum of New Franklin and two sisters, Beverly Linhart of Boonville, and Teresa Spires of Fulton.  

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mike Marcum and Rusty Marcum; three half-brothers, Larry Marcum, Alvin Marcum, and Lester Marcum; and by seven brothers-in-law, Donny Linhart, Dean Spires, Robert Ray, Mark Skelton, Danny Smith, Alan Wilkin, and Andy Rhorer; and by a niece, Becky Rhorer.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Fayette City Cemetery.
