Robert Allen Dougherty, 79, of Armstrong, passed away on November 30, 2023, at Jefferson City Manor.

Bob was born in Grafton, West Virginia, on November 14, 1944, a son of Jasper Cecil and Dayle Reed Dougherty. He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1963 and lived in Armstrong most of his life.

Bob was employed in the City of Fayette, working in the water and sewer department for many years. He also worked on area farms, mowed lawns, and loved gardening, always having lots of vegetables. He loved the holidays and spending time with family at Christmas. At the nursing home, he loved the activities, especially playing bingo and cards. Bob was a member of the Armstrong Baptist Church and also gave back to his community as a dedicated member of the Fayette Lions Club and the Moberly Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his sister, Vickie Aegerter (Robert) and two nephews, Scott (Lisa) and Shaun Aegerter; a great-nephew, Bentley Aegerter; and his cousins. He is also survived by many friends in Fayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Sue Dougherty.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at a later date at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette Lions Club or the Armstrong Baptist Church.

Condolences may be shared at www.carryager.com.

Carr-Yager Funeral Home is honored to care for Bob’s family.
