Dear Fayette Community:
I’ll state and end with THANK You!
2024 marks the end of a 73 year long run for our family in Fayette.
We have enjoyed warm and friendly connections with so many of you in town and throughout Howard County.
THANK YOU!
Two Fayette institutions were especially important to us. The high school where Mom taught English and Spanish, and the newspaper where Dad gathered and reported local news stories for the community.
There were many other sources for great experiences for all of us. I simply could not name them all here, but they had one thing in common...the people who served as their leaders, coaches and teachers that inspired, motivated and cared for us and the other participants who joined us in the activities. Quality people were the backbones of these wonderful memories.
And, guess what, this is undoubtedly still true today. Treasure your human capital!
Goodbyes don’t have to be forever.
While we are no longer present in town, we shall be back for visits from time to time. See you then!
On behalf of the entire Burke family,
THANK YOU for everything!
Fred, Nancy, (John) and Donald
P.S. - Miss you Mom and Dad.
