Thanks for keeping pool alive

Posted

Even through I’ve been away from Fayette for 65 years, I still receive the Fayette newspaper to keep up with what is happening at our beautiful, historic city pool and park.
I want to thank Ann Schnell for her active part she plays in The Friends of the Historic Memorial Pool for keeping our pool alive. I also want to thank Pam Huttsell of the Historic Preservation Commission for spearheading the grant project to help the city pool. I’m hoping the citizens of Fayette will contribute generously to meet the goal of $250,000.00.
At age 11, I learned to swim in that pool through American Red Cross. Later I taught swimming lessons there and was a lifeguard. The pool has a special place in my heart and I love that pool a lot!!
Sincerely,
Jean (Buschmeyer) Riggs
