Two Fayette High School band members have inked their commitments to further their musical endeavors at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg next fall. Senior horn player Patricia Blake (top) and senior bass clarinetist Miracle Triplett (below) both signed on Friday, March 22.

FHS band and choir students soar in distrcts

Several Fayette High School band and choir students have earned the right to compete at the state level on April 25-27. Performers who earned a ‘I’ rating at the  District Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Mexico High School on March 16 are allowed to move on.

“We are excited about the growth of the program and look forward to seeing what they do at State Contest on April 27,” said Fayette band director Elizabeth Betts.

Fayette has 11 soloists and seven ensembles who will compete at the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Music Festival which will be held on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.
