William Hendy “Willie” Northern, III, age 70, of Boonville, passed away at his home, cared for by his family on the banks of the Lamine River on July 7, 2022.

Willie was born in Boonville on June 4, 1952, a son of William H. Northern, II and Evelyn Virginia Weathers Northern. He was the owner and operator of Northern Dozing Company, was a logger and concrete construction worker, and was a member of Local 955 Boone County Labor Union. Willie enjoyed his life on the river – hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He liked having a good time, never met a stranger, and most of all provided for his children and grandchildren.

Willie is survived by his children, Shana Huskey, Chad (Kim) Northern, Eric (Abby) Northern; a brother, David (Mary) Northern of Boonville; six sisters, Virginia (Paul) Small of Prairie Home, Billie Quinley of Sedalia, Linda Wilborn of Moberly, Karen (Stanley) Clark of Lisbon, Sandra (Delbert) Browning of Boonville, and Deborah Brooks of Helena, Montana. Also surviving are his much-loved grandchildren, Miranda, Chad, Kasie, Shelby, Gavin, Eathan, Mason, and Emmett; great-grandchild, Alayna, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Ann Northern; and a sister, Myra George.

At Willie’s request, he will be buried privately at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children and these may be sent in care of Markland-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, New Franklin, Missouri 65274.
