Eleven thousand dollars was paid out by the Missouri Lottery offices in Howard County in March. The Missouri Lottery officers said more than $13.4 million was paid out across the state last month for winning prizes amounting to $1,000 or more.
A $1,000 prize was paid out from Casey’s General Store in Fayette. The Casey’s in Glasgow sold one $1,000 winning ticket and two that brought $5,000 prizes.
Since 1986, the Missouri Lottery claims to have contributed more than $8.7 billion to the state of Missouri and public education. Annual lottery contributions comprise about 4% of the state's funding for public education.
