More than 25 Missouri schools will compete in the 61st annual Central Methodist University Band Day on Saturday around the Fayette square and Davis Field.
The Sound of Central will begin the day stepping off in exhibition at 9:25, to kick off the parade competition at 9:30 a.m. around the square. Each band lines up in front of Swinney Conservatory, marches downtown to the square on Church Street, turns left at the bandstand, makes another left onto Main Street, and concludes their performance at the entrance to CMU at Main and Elm (unless construction is still ongoing).
The field competition at Davis Field will begin at 11:55 with the CMU Brass Quintet performing the National Anthem. Indoor drumline competition will take place in Puckett Fieldhouse beginning at 12:30 pm. The Color Guard competition will be held in the Mark Robb Rec Center in the turf room with a start time of 10:30 a.m.
There is a $10 gate fee at the field show competition. Entrance to the drum line and color guard competitions are free. CMU faculty, staff, and students may enter at no charge. Concessions will be available at the field.
