The Central Missouri Clergy Coalition will host “A Taste of Blackness,” a community Black History Month program, on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, 300 Cleveland St.
The event will highlight Black history through presentations from community members across central Missouri. Speakers will include Fontella Jackmon-Jones (SBC) and Kyreon Walker (SPUMC) of Fayette; Meghan White (FBC) of Forest Green; Jamila White (LCCC) of Glasgow; Cierra Jackson (SBC) of Salisbury; and Cedric Ganaway (SBC) of Slater. Each will share reflections rooted in personal experience, faith, and community service.
Organizers say the program aims to encourage learning, reflection, and connection while honoring the contributions of Black communities throughout the region. Following the program, attendees will be invited to enjoy a free soul food dinner as part of the event’s emphasis on fellowship and hospitality.
The event is open to the public, and community members of all ages are encouraged to attend. For more information or to RSVP, contact Rev. Charlie R. Wright, Sr., at (573) 470‑1075.
