The Howard County American Legion will host a smoked pork chop dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at the Legion Post.
Proceeds from the event will benefit construction of the new building at the Howard County Fairgrounds. The organization will also collect additional donations for the project.
Meals are $15 per person and include smoked pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans, a dessert, and a drink.
The Fairground Development Association Fundraising Committee has been actively reaching out to residents, businesses, and friends of Howard County to support the completion of this project. In December, $39,500.00 was raised. Commercial Trust Company and Jay and Kelly Jacobs recently pledged to match any funds raised on the project after January 20, 2026, up to $120,000.
The committee recently posted a contribution thermometer at the entrance to the Fairgrounds Road.
