The Howard County Republican Central Committee, in cooperation with the Howard County Republican Association, will host a Candidate Meet & Greet and Gun Raffle on Thursday, May 21.
The event is open to all Howard County Republicans and will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Country Club Bar & Grill, just south of town at 450 Hwy. 240.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet state representative Tim Taylor and Missouri Sen. Kurtis Gregory, along with local Republican candidates. The evening is designed to connect fellow conservatives and provide a time for community conversation and fellowship.
The Republican primary in August will decide two countywide races. Stacie McCutcheon and Michelle Johnmeyer will be on the ballot for county treasurer, and incumbent presiding commissioner Jerimiah Johnmeyer faces a challenge from former county employee Jared Wiebs. Primary winners will earn the GOP nomination for the general election in November. No Democrats filed for any county office this election period.
A gun raffle will also be held during the event, with one lucky winner receiving an AR-15.
The meet and greet is paid for by the Howard County Republican Association.
