Fayette, Glasgow, and Harrisburg high schools celebrated Courtwarming on Friday night, crowning their 2026 royalty in conjunction with the varsity basketball games.

Fayette High School seniors Payton Oeth and Leah Thies were crowned the 2026 Courtwarming King and Queen on Friday night. Oeth is the son of Andy and Kim Oeth. Thies is the daughter of Mike and Paula Thies. Both have committed to State Fair Community College in Sedalia next year as catchers for the baseball and softball teams.

Other senior King and Queen candidates were Madison Ragain and Jaron Cross, and Browyn Eubanks and Charles Alexander. Junior attendants were Emma Hilgedick and Parker LaValley. Sophomore attendants were Rylan Roberts and Morgen Campbell. And freshman attendants were Tessa Gose and Kielin Pulliam. Crown-bearers Amara Patty and Murphy Cook escorted the returning King and Queen, Thomas Elliott and Oakleigh Hill.

The coronation took place after Fayette swept conference opponent Linn on the basketball court. Games started roughly 90 minutes early due to subzero temperatures and forecasted winter weather. A dance concluded a week-long celebration that included class competitions, dress-up days, and a kiss-the-pig fundraiser. This year’s theme was Falcon Pride Early 2000s Style.

Glasgow seniors Gavin Lawson and Brooklynn Morris were crowned King and Queen during halftime of the boys’ basketball game.

Glasgow also started its games early due to the weather and postponed the Courtwarming dance. No makeup date has been announced.

Freshmen Brenna Adams and Ethan Thies, sophomores Riley Olendorff and Aiden Agnew, and juniors Ava Fuemmeler and Andrew Cropp rounded out the court.

Glasgow also recognized the 2016 boys’ and girls’ state finalists and featured a special performance by the 2014 state champion cheerleading team.

Glasgow closed out the celebrations with a Central Activities Conference sweep of Sturgeon on the hardwood. The girls won 72-29, followed by the boys with a 62-37 victory.

In Harrisburg, seniors Lorelai Hunziker and Chase Gray were crowned King and Queen, and Sanibel Acton and Beau Weathers were named Princess and Prince of the 2026 Courtwarming.

Senior Queen and King candidates included Bradey Simpson and Bender Wardrip, and Poppy Spry and Victor Shouse. Princess and Prince candidates included juniors Kalysta O’Haver and Jayson Eskew, and Gracie Vaughan and Ben Collins; sophomores Sophie McCune and Silas Buckler; and freshmen Audrey Eaton and Brody Combs, and Naomi DeMuth and Connor Gray.

Harrisburg also recognized the 2006 State Championship team on the 20th anniversary of winning the Class 2 State Basketball title.

On Coach Combs Court, the varsity teams split against CS8 opponent Eugene. The Lady Bulldogs won 61-24, while the boys fell to the Class 2 defending champs 54-39.
