The Fayette school district is losing two of its three building administrators after the current school year. High school principal Jason Hannam and Daly Elementary principal Samie Hill both tendered their resignations last month.
Hannam is leaving Fayette after two years to become the superintendent at New Bloomfield. Hill has not announced her plans.
The Board of Education last month also accepted resignations from six teachers and staff members, and voted not to renew the contract for high school girls basketball coach and business and digital media teacher Rachel England. Resigning from the district are Scott Finley, PE teacher/FHS assistant football coach; Kole Hinton, FHS language arts teacher and head football coach; Marlenis Patty, FHS Spanish teacher; Eric Williams, FHS language arts teacher; Tommy Phillips, CMS science teacher, CMS head boys basketball and assistant track coach and FHS assistant boys basketball coach; and Trenton Byers, FHS weight room, assistant football coach, and FHS assistant boys basketball coach.
Assistant high school softball coach Melisa Felten and CMS girls assistant basketball coach Cassidy Spaeder also resigned from their coaching duties.
The school board gave unanimous approval to renew contracts for several non-tenured teachers. They are Teresa Bishop, Bri Busker, Allison Canote, Jodie Chrislaw, Mary Dezner, Melissa Duren (critical shortage),Therese Fuemmeler, Lacey Gladden, Jessica Howell, Olivia Hukel, Stacy Menees, Elizabeth Rice, Kristin Roberts, Millie Scruggs, and Jarah Wilt. Contracts for tenured staff members Chara Kee, Destiney Rice, and Nancy Denton were also renewed.
The following non-tenured staff members were also approved: Joseph Morris, Stephanie Bassman, Jodi Gerlt, Abigail Jastal, Mariah Kirksey, Clayton Long, Vicki Nave, and Maggie Severini.
The board later approved new contracts for Brandon Friebe (teacher and FHS head boys basketball coach), Ryan Atkins, Jennifer Shepard (tenured), Carley Lyon, Jacob Robinson, Spencer Gerald, Fischer Tharp, Hayden Weatherman (teacher and assistant CMS boys basketball coach), and Andy Oeth, who has since announced his resignation as both teacher and head baseball coach.
