The Fayette Rotary Club has raised more than $2,400 so far to help renovate the front porch and awning at the Fayette Senior Center. The club was awarded $1,800 from the Rotary District Simplified Matching Grant, with further donations from Kelly and Joe Vaughn of Vaughn Heating and Cooling, Jeff Davis of Community Auto, Janet Jacobs, and Exchange Bank of Missouri.
Last Wednesday, Fayette Rotary Club President Eddie Campbell accepted a $500 check for the project from Commercial Trust Company.
These donations will help match the funds awarded to the club through the grant, which stipulates that the funds be used to enhance and improve the Fayette Senior Center’s capacity to serve local seniors. The club needs to match the grant total of $1,800.
Additionally, some of the proceeds from the club’s upcoming Trivia Night, scheduled for November 1, will also be used for the Senior Center project.
The total cost of the senior center project has not been determined.
