Downtown Fayette will host its annual Trunk or Treat on the square from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The event will occur a full week before Halloween, likely to not conflict with Central Methodist University’s Homecoming, which is scheduled for the holiday weekend.
To register a trunk, go online to https:/ /forms.gle/ngMSiStBdDfQNRzS9.
Linn Memorial United Methodist Church’s annual Pumpkin Fest will also take place on Saturday due to the Homecoming schedule. Instead of the annual event at the church’s parsonage on Spring Street, it will coincide with Trunk or Treat on the square.
Despite the CMU Homecoming on Halloween, trick-or-treaters are still expected to be out in force on Halloween night. Popular neighborhoods include West Davis Street and nearby areas along Highway 5. North Church Street is also seeing a resurgence of homes welcoming trick-or-treaters.
Citizens are encouraged to turn on their porch lights and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
