The Howard County Health Department is pleased to announce the introduction of new Lab Draw Services, offering residents a convenient and affordable option for laboratory testing.
Available tests include complete blood counts (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panels, lipid panels, hemoglobin A1C, thyroid testing, iron and TIBC, prostate-specific antigen (PSA), testosterone, urinalysis, urine culture, vitamin B12 and folate, and vitamin D testing. Complete panels and individual tests are available at clearly listed prices.
These services are out-of-pocket only. The Health Department does not bill insurance for laboratory testing. Residents can contact the department to learn more about available tests and pricing.
A valid physician’s order is required for all testing. Patients must bring an order from their primary physician when requesting laboratory services. For added convenience, the department can also fax test results directly to the patient’s primary care provider's office to help support continuity of care.
Residents interested in tests not listed on the fee schedule are encouraged to call and inquire about additional testing options.
“This new service reflects the Howard County Health Department’s continued commitment to promoting preventive care and supporting the health and well-being of the community,” said department administrator Rajitha Voleti.
For more information about available tests, pricing, or Lab Draw Services, please call 660-248-3100.
The department is also continuing to administer flu shots. So far, Voleti said her staff has vaccinated 151 people this year, far more than the 85 doses administered in 2025.
