Former Fayette resident passed away April 10, 2026, in Bunceton, MO. She was 76 years of age.

Helen Fay Parker was born March 2, 1950, to Fred and Azill (Skaggs) Gibson. She graduated from the Fayette High School class of 1969. She married Jimmie Dale Parker, and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2015. Helen worked as a nurse’s aide at Keller Hospital, Cooper County Hospital, and privately for over 40 years. She was known for being an excellent caregiver to many patients in Howard and Cooper County. Helen liked cooking and being in the outdoors whenever possible. She loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Kevin (Arianna) Parker of New Franklin; two daughters, Jeannie Parker of Fayette and Janie (Timmy) Moore of Bunceton; seven grandchildren, Jimmie (Christina) Parker, William Wright, Russell Wheeler, Krista Parker, Monica (Colton) Messex, Shelia Zimmerman, and Desire Moore; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Messerly of Marshall, MO; a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Gibson; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elleck, Billy, and Jim Gibson, and one sister, Bessie Owen Moore.

Helen didn’t want a funeral service, so the family will be having a celebration of life gathering from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the lower shelter house in the Fayette City Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be for the Pulliam Cemetery in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N, Fayette, MO 65248.
