A steady stream of local residents met with Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials Thursday evening for an open meeting regarding plans to replace the Hwy. 240 bridge over Salt Creek next year. The meeting was held so MoDOT representatives could listen to comments and concerns regarding the project.
Project Manager Patrick Hake told the Advertiser that once started, the $1.6 million replacement will take about three months to complete. Bids will be solicited in December, and MoDOT expects to award the project in February.
Hake said repairs to the bridge made in late 2024 were only expected to last three to five years. The new bridge will approximately two feet wider and higher, which will adjust approaches on either side of the bridge.
