Howard County has a new conservation agent on duty, just in time for deer season. Trent Oberg began serving the county on October 1.
A native of Gasconade County, he earned an associate’s degree from East Central College in Union, Mo., and later a bachelor’s degree from Mizzou. He said he chose to become a conservation agent because it combines his interest in law enforcement with his passions for hunting and fishing.
Oberg graduated from the Conservation Training Academy in Jefferson City on September 30. He chose to serve in Howard County and has already been patrolling the seven conservation areas here, including D.C. Rogers, Peters, and Ricketts lakes.
Youth deer season starts this weekend, November 1 and 2, with rifle season starting on November 15.
Agent Oberg can be reached at (660) 287-0014 or by email at trent.oberg@mdc.mo.gov.
