The City of Fayette will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) at City Hall to discuss the submission of a competitive cycle grant application for the Fiscal Year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
The hearing will gauge citizen input on community development needs within the city.
Citizens will be asked to verbally assist in the completion of a Needs Assessment document, which will detail what residents consider the strengths and weaknesses of the community.
The City of Fayette is proposing to make street and stormwater repairs to West Walnut and West Depot and Lake Streets from Hwy. 5 to South Church Street and Reynolds Street from North Mulberry Street to Leonard Avenue. These three were whittled down from a list of six streets previously being considered.
The total cost is estimated at $895,137, with $369,137 contributed by the city and a match and $1,000 of in-kind administrative work. If awarded, $525,000 will be provided in grant funding.
For more information, contact city administrator Deanna Cooper at (660) 248-5246 or administrator@cityoffayettemo.com.
