The Fayette Rotary Club is helping local families travel a little more safely by supporting the Howard County Public Health Department’s Car Seat Program.
The program provides safe car seats for families who may not be able to afford them. In addition to providing the seats, the program educates and empowers parents and caregivers with important child passenger safety information and helps ensure that car seats are installed correctly through safety checks.
With July’s Rotary theme focusing on maternal and child health, Fayette Rotary Club President VC Alexander challenged club members to support the local program. The club responded by providing funds to purchase two car seats that meet the program’s specific safety requirements.
Following the Rotary Club’s regular meeting on Sept. 16, the two car seats were presented to representatives of the Howard County Public Health Department.
The donation is one way Fayette Rotary is putting Rotary’s focus on maternal and child health into action by supporting a program that provides both safety equipment and valuable information to local families.
