Perfect autumn weather set the stage for a day of friendly competition and community spirit at the Polio-Plus Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, October 5. Sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Fayette and Rocheport, the event drew a lively crowd to Meriwether’s Café at the Rocheport trailhead. It raised around $900 to support Rotary International’s global effort to eradicate polio.
Sixteen teams joined in the fun, tossing cornhole bags, cheering on their friends, and helping make a difference in the fight against the devastating disease. Following a series of close matches, Steve Wobbe and David Ladd, representing the Jefferson City and Ashland areas, emerged as the tournament champions. In the Youth Division, Nikolai Campbell and Raven Breland of Boonville captured first-place honors.
Organizers from both Rotary Clubs expressed gratitude to participants, sponsors, and spectators who helped make the day such a success. “It’s always inspiring to see people come together for a good cause,” one organizer noted. “Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to ending polio for good.”
