FHS Marching Band claims Class 2 state title

Posted

Fayette High School won the Class 2 title at the Missouri State Marching Association competition at Blair Oaks High School on Saturday.

The win caps a perfect season for the Falcon Pride Band, which won first place in every competition this year.

Fayette won awards for color guard, music, and effects in Saturday’s contest.

“Some moments mean more than a score can capture,” wrote Fayette band director Elizabeth Betts on the band’s Facebook page. “Today, the Fayette Falcon Pride Marching Band took the field at State with determination, heart, and a commitment to one another that makes me incredibly proud. This group has kept showing up. They’ve worked through frustrations, tackled the details, and pushed themselves to be better. They’ve learned how much every person matters—and what they can accomplish when they trust each other and give everything they have. Watching that work come together today is something I will carry with me for a long time.”

Harrisburg High School placed second overall in Class 2, followed by St. Vincent de Paul in third.

Harrisburg also picked up awards for percussion and visuals.
